Welcome!

I'm so glad you're here. My name is Tracey, and I've been sharing the gift of yoga for over 20 years as a teacher, educator, and passionate advocate for wellness.

My Journey

With a BFA in Art Education and more than two decades of teaching experience, I bring both creativity and deep knowledge to every class and session. I have the privilege of teaching yoga in the dance department at UW-Milwaukee, where I witness daily how movement can transform not just bodies, but entire perspectives on what's possible. I also teach at Riverwest Yogashala, a community-run non-profit studio in Milwaukee's vibrant Riverwest neighborhood.

My university position has given me the unique opportunity to work with an incredible range of bodies—from dancers and athletes to veterans and mothers returning to school. Through this diverse teaching experience, I've discovered that most everyone needs work on the fundamentals of movement, regardless of their background or fitness level.

Yoga has been part of my life for over 25 years and has profoundly shaped who I am today. It has helped me stabilize my emotions, build self-confidence, and find relief from chronic back pain. To me, yoga is more than a practice on the mat—it's a way of life that reminds me to slow down, be present, and show up as my best self every day. I truly don't know who I'd be without it. What started as my own journey toward feeling better has evolved into a calling to help others discover their own sense of well-being and inner strength.

What I Offer

My Approach

I've become deeply interested in yoga therapeutics, mobility practices, functional movement, and making yoga accessible to the average person. I believe we can ALL feel better in our bodies as we age if we start to honor and care for them.

My own journey hasn't always been easy—I've experienced classes that felt too intense, unsafe, or even led to injury. I've also navigated significant trauma, anxiety, and depression throughout my life. These challenges have shaped me into the teacher I always wished I had: someone who truly understands what it feels like to be vulnerable in your body and need a genuinely safe space to heal and grow.

I believe yoga should feel good—not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually too. My teaching style blends technical knowledge with genuine compassion, creating a safe space where you can explore, grow, and simply be yourself. Every body is different, every day is different, and that's not just okay—it's beautiful.

Whether you're new to yoga, returning after a difficult experience, or have been practicing for years, I'm here to help you connect with yourself in a deeper way. I understand that many of us carry physical trauma in our bodies or are managing mental and emotional challenges, and I honor wherever you are in your journey.

I received my yoga certification through the IYNAUS (Iyengar Yoga National Association of the United States) in 2004, and have been given E-RYT-500 (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher) status from Yoga Alliance for my years of intense study in the Iyengar Method. I have had the honor of learning from the Iyengar family (Geeta, Prashant, and Abhijata), and continue my studies with other teachers who inspire me. There is so much to learn from this deeply rooted practice, and I am forever grateful for all of the wisdom that has been bestowed upon me.

In my classes you'll find clear instruction, gentle encouragement, and plenty of options to make each pose work for you. Whether you're working through an injury, celebrating what your body can do, or simply seeking a moment of peace in a busy day, you belong here. I love to combine fundamental movement practices, modern day yoga philosophy, and a playful dose of curiosity to help you connect with yourself and deepen your practice.

Let's Connect

When I'm not teaching or practicing, you'll find me taking nature hikes, playing boardgames with my family, painting with watercolor, or cuddled up with a good book and a kitty on my lap.

Yoga has taught me that we're all connected, and I'm honored to be part of your journey toward feeling good in your own skin. Over the years I've meet such an amazing diverse range of people in my classes that have touched me as much as I hope I've touched them. I'd love to hear from you and learn how I can support your wellness goals. We're in this together.

"I've had back pain all my life. I was reluctant to try yoga as the culture seemed not to fit with me. When I visited the doctor in 2018 with exacerbated, persistent pain, they suggested physical therapy or yoga. A friend suggested Tracey's classes and am I glad she did!

I learned that Iyengar Yoga is the closest to physical therapy. My back pain is managed through the well-guided, "at my own pace" practices. I'm so thankful to Tracey and her years of experience helping me and my body live a more enjoyable and stronger life."

“I am so grateful for the guidance and support I've received from Tracey’s weekly class and workshops. The positive calming atmosphere, detailed instructions, and personalized adjustments have helped me develop a deeper understanding of my body and mind. The workshop sessions have not only helped me become stronger and more flexible, but have also given me a sense of peace and clarity that I carry throughout the day. I’m so appreciative for this practice, and look forward to each class as a chance to reconnect with myself and meet new people within the community!”
